FLY-FISHING IN MONTANA IS A THING OF BEAUTY

There is something calming about hearing the whisper of a fly line as it cuts through the air and feeling the coolness of the crystal clear water on your waders. As you and the trout try to outwit each other you’re hoping you picked the perfect fly and landed it just right atop the stream. Fly-fishing is just another way to spend your day at Wilderness Club, either honing your fly-casting skills on Wilderness Lake, which is home to over 4,000 rainbows, or fishing area streams and lakes.

Species include Rainbow Trout, Cutthroat Trout, Bull Trout, Brookies, the feisty Kamloop Rainbow and Kokanee Salmon, which is terrific in smoked salmon recipes. Owners can choose to fish along the shores of Wilderness Lake, travel to their favorite spots not far from the property or enlist the skills of a private fly-fishing guide through Wilderness Club’s concierge. Notable waters are the Fisher, Yaak and Kootenai Rivers. A tributary of the Clark Fork River, the Bull River is purported to have Brown Trout over 20 inches in length! For the more adventurous angler, the Cabinet Mountain Wilderness has wonderful high mountain streams and lakes.
